Zak Zinter was born to Tiffany Zinter and Paul Zinter. He shares the same parents as his sister, Lily Zinter, and his brother, Luke Zinter.

Zak Zinter career
Zinter was a football player for Buckingham Browne and Nichols School and St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts during his high school career.
In high school, he also competed in track and field, taking home the shot put state championship in his junior year. ESPN rated him as a four-star prospect, while 247 Sports gave him a three-star rating.
Prior to the 2020 campaign, he made a commitment to the University of Michigan, turning down offers from Notre Dame and other universities.
Zinter was a member of the Michigan offensive line that took home the Joe Moore Award in 2021. He was chosen as a first-team offensive guard on the 2022 All-Big Ten Conference football team by the conference coaches at the conclusion of the regular season.
The league coaches selected Trevor Keegan, Olusegun Oluwatimi, and Zinner, Michigan’s three interior offensive linemen, to the first team.
He was added to the watch list for the Outland Trophy as well. On November 25, 2023, Zinter was forced to leave the field on a cart due to a significant injury to his fibula and tibia sustained during the game versus Ohio State.
He was consequently unable to play for the remainder of the Wolverines’ College Football Playoff Championship run.
