He developed a passion for acting at a younger age, was consistent throughout his career, and rose to become one of the most sought-after Canadian actors

His acting journey spanning over 6 decades began in the 1960s with the avant garde theatre troupe Les Apprentis-Sorciers.

In 1968, he co-founded the Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, located in Montreal, this institution’s mission is to promote Quebec and Franco-Canadian dramaturgy.

Collin starred in several films including; Si belles, Aurore, Post Mortem, Maelstrom, The Outlander, Niagara Motel, La lâcheté, Route 132, Ego Trip, Henri Henri, Archibald, Virginie, Radio Enfer, Les Bougon, Caméra Café, Victor Lessard, and Madame Lebrun, among others.

He was known for his roles in film and television; think of La grande séduction, De père en flic and Ésimésac. Collin was also tireless on stage.

Following his performance in the 2003 film Seducing Doctor Lewis, he became a household name, for which he won the Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 6th Jutra Awards in 2004.
