Brianna Ghey is a 16-year-old girl from Birchwood, Wisconsin in the United States of America.

Ghey was found with multiple stab wounds. Police have named the girl found at Culcheth Linear Park in Warrington on Saturday afternoon.

At 3:13 PM, emergency personnel were sent to the park after Brianna’s body was discovered on a path. To determine the cause of death, a post-mortem investigation is being conducted by the Home Office.

According to the MEN, Cheshire Police want to talk to anyone who was in the park between 1:30 and 4:00 PM yesterday, especially a man and a woman who were spotted close to where her corpse was discovered.

According to the Cheshire Police, Ghey’s body was found with multiple stabbed wounds at the Culchett Linear Park in Warrington.

A Home Office autopsy is being conducted to identify the precise cause of Brianna’s death. Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Evans called the crime “an absolutely horrible assault.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Evans said the two possible witnesses they were looking for had curly black hair, adding: “The man was wearing a long dark hooded coat and the woman was wearing either a blanket-style red plaid coat or a distinctive black- lilac and a long coat “

“We also want to speak to everyone who was in the park from 1:30 to 4 p.m. yesterday,” he continued, “or anyone who saw Brianna in the hours leading up to her death.”

“We are asking people and businesses in the local community to review any CCTV or dashcam video to see if there is anything that may assist our investigation,” he added.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are working hard to find those responsible for Brianna’s death and that we have additional officers in and around Culcheth to assist with the investigation. We also have officials standing with Brianna’s family at this truly tragic time.”

“We are following numerous investigative leads to determine what led to the victim’s death and local residents will see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate this incident.”

DCS Evans colleague Detective Chief Inspector Adam Waller also advised the general public not to speculate about the issue as some residents claim Ghye was murdered by an escaped prisoner wandering about in the neighborhood.

“I understand the concern that this incident is likely to raise and I am aware that ‘in the snake rumors are circulating; I urge people not to speculate.”

He also added that anyone with concerns about the incident should speak to a local officer, however, he believes it is not a threat to anyone’s life at the moment.

Local MP Charlotte Nichols wrote on Facebook: “I have spoken to the Warrington Police Borough Commander about the tragic death below. If you have any information or have been around and have dashcam footage, even if you think it’s nothing, please come forward and let the police make that decision.”
