He was born on April 4, 1975, in Evansville, Indiana, United States to Linda Rolen and Ed Rolen. Scott Rolen attended Jasper High School in Jasper, Indiana, and was an active member of the baseball team.
Scott Rolen rose through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after baseball players. He played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball for four teams, the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Cincinnati Reds.

His final season as an MLB player was in 2012. He was a seven-time All-Star, eight-time Gold Glove winner, and a World Series championship as a member of the Cardinals.

In 2018, he was hired as Director of Player Development for Indiana University’s baseball team. In January 2023, Scott Rolen made headlines when he was elected by the Baseball Writers Association of America(BBWAA) to the 2023 baseball hall of fame.
He secured 297 votes out of the 389 possible, that is 76.3% of the ballots cast. Scott Rolen joins Fred McGriff, who was elected last month by the contemporary baseball era committee. The induction ceremony will take place at Cooperstown, New York on July 23, 2023.
