Tana Umaga is a New Zealand former rugby union footballer and former captain of the national team, the All Blacks who since 2016 he has been coach of the Blues in the Super Rugby competition.

He has played for the Hurricanes since the inception of the Super 12 in 1996 and was named captain in 2003, and Graham Henry named him captain of the All Blacks in 2004. Tana Umaga is married to Rochelle. They have four children. After retiring from professional rugby, Tana Umaga began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2022, he won a silver medal as a brown belt at the IBJJF Masters World Championships. Shortly after this success, Tana Umaga was promoted to a black belt in the sport by a trainer at Alliance Jiu-Jitsu in Auckland, New Zealand.
