Tom Sanders is one of the most popular and richest New Zealand rugby union player who was born on February 5, 1994 in Little River, New Zealand. The continued success in New Zealand’s national tournaments for rugby saw him included as a member of the Chiefs team in the year the year 2016. He scored 3 tries over 13 games in the first season in Hamilton when his new team reached the semi-finals of the tournament, before losing to New Zealand rivals, and ultimately, champions The Hurricanes from Wellington. He was re-included in the team for 2017.
His performances in his first year playing provincial rugby did not get overlooked, and he was appointed one of the Crusaders larger coaching group in the coming 2015 Super Rugby season. It was mostly a time of development for Sanders because his presence alongside All Black stalwarts such as Kieran Read and Richie McCaw in the Crusaders back row meant that Sanders didn’t have any time in the game.
Sanders began his professional career playing for Canterbury at the time of the 2014 ITM Cup, making his debut against Auckland in the first week of the tournament. Sanders was forced to settle for being on the substitutes in most of the time, but did show up with a lot of success and scored three tries in eight appearances throughout the entire season. He was involved in 10 games in 2015, alternating the starting role alongside Reed Prinsep as Canterbury lifted the Premiership title by beating Auckland 25-23. Auckland during the championship final. A knee injury held him back for the first half of 2016 but he returned to play seven times and scored one attempt to lead Canterbury to win their eighth national championship in the span of nine seasons.
