Teboho Mahlatsi children-South African corporate director and screenwriter, Teboho Mahlatsi was born in 1974 in South Africa.
He wrote for film and television for five years after completing the Film & Television Course at the Africa Cultural Centre.
The documentary Ghetto Diaries was created, produced, and directed by him for the South African educational television network SABC Education TV.
He also wrote, produced, and directed the highly polarizing television series Yizo Yizo, which won Best Director and Best Drama Series at the Avanti Awards (South Africa’s equivalent of the Emmys).
Teboho Mahlatsi cause of death
Mahlatsi was reported to have died on July 3, 2023. The devastating news was announced by the Comedian, David Kau who took to his Facebook page to communicate the demise of Mahlatsi to the public and his fans.
He wrote; “ON BEHALF OF THE FAMILY MAHLATSI We regret to inform you of the untimely loss on July 3, 2023, of filmmaker and producer Teboho Moseling Mahlatsi. The family politely begs prayers instead of individual condolences as well as space to mourn and come to grips with the devastating loss. More information will be released when it is appropriate. – Family Mahlatsi Peace Be With You, Brother.
However, what caused the death of the film director has not been communicated to the public at the time of filing this report.
Teboho Mahlatsi career
Teboho Mahlatsi is the director of The Bomb Shelter Film Company (Pty) Ltd. His various works include the documentary Ghetto Diaries for the South African educational channel SABC Education TV, which he also wrote, produced, and directed.
Portrait of a Young Man Drowning, his directorial debut, earned the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1999.
The three seasons of the South African television phenomenon Yizo Yizo, a youth drama series that received the highest ratings in South African television history, were co-created and directed by him. Yiso Yiso earned the best International series honor at the Cinema Tout Ecrand Awards.
Meet South Africa is one of his other works.
