Steve Mackey Cause Of Death: What Killed Steve Mackey?: Steve Mackey, officially known as Stephen Patrick Mackey was an English musician and record producer.

He developed a love for music at a very younger age and was consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after acts within the music space.

As a musician and an instrumentalist, Steve Mackey was best known as the bass guitarist for the alternative rock band Pulp, which he joined in 1989.

As a record producer, he was known for the production of songs and albums by M.I.A., Florence + the Machine, The Long Blondes, and Arcade Fire, among other notable artists.

As part of the alternative rock band Pulp, they released several projects and played a major role in the band’s hits including Common People, Disco 2000, and Lipgloss.

After an 8-year hiatus from the band, Mackey returned to Pulp in 2010 and together, they had world tours in 2011 and 2012 as well as the release of their single ‘After You’.

Mackey also worked with John Gosling (formerly of Psychic TV) as a music director and sound designer creating mixes and original compositions for films, museums, and other commercial projects.

Steve Mackey died on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Before his death, Mackey had announced he would not be part of Pulp’s 2023 reunion tour.
