His remarkable performance earned him recognition as Second Team All-SWAC. Unfortunately, in the 2022 season, Sanders faced adversity when he suffered an ACL injury, limiting him to just seven games, during which he still managed to contribute with 20 tackles and an interception. Following the 2022 season, Sanders once again entered the NCAA transfer portal, ready for a new chapter.
Sanders eventually chose to transfer to the University of Colorado, where he aimed to make a significant impact. In his debut game, he demonstrated his defensive prowess with ten tackles and played a crucial role in the Buffaloes’ upset victory over #18 TCU. In the third week of the season, he showcased his playmaking ability with an 80-yard pick-six, helping Colorado secure a win against their rivals, Colorado State.
