Mollett represented the United States in the 2002 World Lacrosse Championship, where they won the title. He received his M.B.A. from BlackRock in 2007. Prior to that, he worked as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst at First New York Securities. His career began as a consultant with Gemini Realty Advisors. Now, he is a Senior Manager Director at GSO. Since 2011, Mr. Mollett’s focus has been on special and distressed situation investing. Mollett serves on the Investment Committee as Portfolio Manager for GSO Community Development Capital Group and GSO Hedge Fund Strategies.

He was co-captain for the 2001 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship winning team. Mollett was awarded the 2001 Schmeisser Award for the best National Collegiate Athletic Association lacrosse defenseman. He was named the 2001 Men’s Ivy League player of the year. He was an honorable mention selection for the 2000 USILA All-American Team in 2001, and a first-team selection in 2001. He was an All-Ivy League selection on the first team in 2000 and 2001. The Rochester Rattlers selected Mollett in 2001 as the first Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft player. Mollett was also selected by the New York Saints, box lacrosse National Lacrosse League, in the 22nd round of 2001’s NLL draft. From 2001 to 2005, he played for the Rattlers. He was then drafted by the Chicago Machine but did not play in any games. He requested to be traded by the Machine after he was drafted in the 2006 MLL Expansion Draft. The Machine traded Mollett to New Jersey Pride in March 2006. From 2006 to 2007, he played for the Pride. He was named an All-Star in 2003.

Mollet obtained a M.B.A. from Yale School of Management in 2007. That year, his wedding to Glamour magazine fashion editor Samantha Noelle Bishopp was announced in The New York Times. Mollett is the son of Dorothy Mollett and Richard C. Mollett of Taneytown, Maryland.
