Ryan Day Children: Does Ryan Day Have Children? – Ryan Day is a product of the Manchester Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire. As a quarterback and defensive back his senior year, he was named Gatorade Player of the Year in the state.
He attended the University of New Hampshire for his education. Day set four career records at UNH, including completion percentage and touchdowns, while playing for then-offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
In 2012, he was the offensive coordinator at Temple, and from 2013 to 2014, he was the offensive coordinator at Boston College. On January 22, 2015, he was hired as the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterbacks coach.
Then, in 2016, after his mentor Chip Kelly was fired as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Day was hired in the same position by Kelly, who went on to become the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
On August 1, 2018, Day was named acting head coach at Ohio State after head coach Urban Meyer was placed on administrative leave after it was revealed that Meyer was aware of the events surrounding then-fired Zach Smith’s domestic violence accusations made by Smith’s estranged wife.
He is on record to have led the Buckeyes to a perfect 12-0 regular season record in his first season as a full-time head coach. This happened in the year 2019, the Buckeyes’ first undefeated regular season since 2013.
Despite being predicted to finish second in the Big Ten East Division by the 2019 Cleveland.com preseason poll, the Buckeyes clinched the division following their November 23 victory over Penn State, securing a spot in the Big Ten Championship, which they went on to win 34-21 over Wisconsin.
The Big Ten Conference’s policies regarding the COVID-19 pandemic shortened Day’s second season significantly. The Ohio State Buckeyes’ regular season was cut from 12 games to 8, then to 5 due to pandemic cancellations.
The Buckeyes began the 2021 season ranked fourth in both the AP and coaches’ polls, Day’s third full season as head coach.
After being upset by Oregon early in the season, Day led Ohio State to a 9-game win streak behind Heisman finalist CJ Stroud. Ohio State defeated then-twentieth-ranked Penn State and fifth-ranked Michigan State.
The Buckeyes began the 2022 season ranked second in the nation in both the AP and coaches’ polls, marking Day’s fourth full season as head coach.
With returning quarterback CJ Stroud, Ohio State started 8-0, with double-digit victories at home over then-top-five Notre Dame and away at the 13th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.
