Canadian rapper and singer Tory Lanez has been charged on two counts with the shooting of colleague artist Megan Thee Stallion during an argument earlier this year according to Los Angeles prosecution.

The rapper now faces two felony chargers- assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The complaint states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan Thee Stallion.
He was arrested the night of the shooting but released after posting bail. Prosecutors are recommending that his bail be set at $1.1 million at his arraignment.
Megan had already declined to name Lanez as the shooter in her several social media posts for about a month until on August 20, when she admitted in an instagram video that “Yes … Tory shot me,” and urged him to “stop lying” about the incident.
The 27-year-old Canadian rapper and singer is due to be arranged before court on Tuesday in Los Angeles. If found convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of roughly 23 years.
