Ophelia Ford is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 5, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Ophelia Ford (born on July 5th 1950) was a former member of the Tennessee Senate. Her younger siblings include the former governor John Ford and former Congressman Harold Ford, Sr. and is the mother of Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. She was a member of Senate District 29, which includes South Memphis and North Memphis.
It was the Tennessee Senate initially voted along parties to invalidate the election. Ophelia Ford filed a lawsuit against for the State Senate and obtained an injunction from a federal court, which held the election indefinitely until the senate complied with provisions of the Voting Rights Act. In the end, however, the State Senate, having authorization to do so by the court’s decision and a vote to nullify the election, with a majority of 26-6 on April 19, 2006.
She is often cited for her outrageous opinions such as her accusations about Tennessee nurses harming patients on a daily basis and doing things to her as a patient that “are so horrible you would not believe it”. She made these accusations as a response to a 2012 proposal to increase penalties for assaults on healthcare workers. Ford argued patients are the ones who need protection from nurses.
In accordance with Tennessee State law, the filling of the district’s seat became duty to Shelby County Commission. Shelby County Commission. Ophelia Ford has pledged to pursue legal action to win back the seat. On April 25 of the year 2006, Ford filed a federal suit to get her seat back.

John Ford, who had been an elected part of the Tennessee Senate for over 30 years, quit in 2005 following his arrest during Operation Tennessee Waltz. Ophelia Ford was a candidate to fill her father’s Senate seat, and beat Henri Brooks by 20 votes in the special Democratic primary.
