Olesya Dudnik is one of the most popular and richest Artistic Gymnast who was born on August 15, 1974 in Zaporizhia, Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukraine. Olesya (alternate spelling OlessiaDudnik [alternate spelling: Olessia Dudnik (Olesia Vitaliyivna Dudnik born on 15 August 1974 Zaporizhia, Ukraine) is a gymnastics instructor and former artistic gymnast who performed internationally in her country in the Soviet Union between 1988 and 1990. Her title was world-class in vault in 1989, and is considered to be one of the top gymnasts who ever competed on the balance beam. Her short competitive career ended due to injuries.
As well as the injuries she has suffered, Dudnik has also endured personal tragic events. Her parents passed away from illnesses they contracted as a result from the Chernobyl nuclear accident. In March 1994, she got married to Ukrainian wrestling star Oleh Chapnyi and they had a son on the 25th of March in the year 1995. International Gymnast magazine reported that Chapny was a widow in 2004.
Olesya Dudnik coached gymnastics at the Al Gezeera Sporting Club in Cairo, Egypt until 2017. She remarried in 2017 and currently resides in Redondo Beach, CA.
Videos from at the World Championships shows Dudnik performing with a bandaged foot. The foot injury was a constant nagging her throughout her 1990 French Internationals. Prior to her accident, Dudnik’s floor routine included three moves: an Arabian double front and two 1/2 twists to punch barani and the full-in pike dismount. In the following months, she suffered an injury to her knee that was serious and issues with rehabilitation led to her professional career coming to an end.

In 1989, at the World Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany, Dudnik was part of the gold medal winning Soviet team, which was led by Svetlana Boginskaya, and regarded as one of the strongest female line-ups ever created.
