Nick Pope Siblings: Meet Josh Pope – Nick Pope went to nearby King’s School. He began his career at the club’s youth set-up at the age of 10 and stayed with Ipswich until he was released at the age of 16.
After being released by Ipswich Town, he joined non-league club Bury Town in 2008. After challenging and temporarily replacing Marcus Garnham, Pope demonstrated his ability at that level by wearing the number one shirt for Bury Town in a number of first-team matches

Pope has also represented England Colleges and West Suffolk College. Pope was signed by League One club Charlton Athletic on May 24, 2011, after scouts spotted him during a 2-1 win over Billericay Town. He was then summoned to Charlton for a trial.
After impressing staff during a trial, he was signed on a two-year contract after the two clubs agreed on a compensation package that included Charlton hosting Suffolk in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2012-13 season.
Pope signed a loan deal with Isthmian League Premier Division club Harrow Borough until September 17, 2011. In 19 appearances, Pope kept three clean sheets and saved two penalty kicks.
Pope signed a three-year contract with newly promoted Premier League club Burnley on July 19, 2016, for an undisclosed fee. Pope made his Premier League debut on September 10, 2017, in the first half of a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace, replacing the injured Tom Heaton.
The following week, on 16 September 2017, he made his Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw away to Liverpool. Pope signed a new contract extension with Burnley until 2020 on October 9.
Pope signed a new contract with Burnley in May 2019, which will initially run until 2023. He had a productive 2019-20 season, playing every minute of Burnley’s Premier League campaign.
Pope was level on clean sheets with Manchester City’s Ederson heading into the season finale against Brighton, with both keepers having kept 15. Yves Bissouma scored in the 20th minute of the match against Brighton, meaning Pope finished the season with 15 clean sheets.
Manchester City defeated already-relegated Norwich City 5-0, with Ederson keeping his 16th clean sheet and claiming the Golden Glove outright, narrowly defeating Pope.
Burnley drew 1-1 away at Liverpool on July 11, 2020, becoming the season’s only team to defeat Liverpool at Anfield. Pope was praised for his performance in the game, in which he made eight saves to prevent Liverpool from winning.
Pope signed a four-year contract with Premier League club Newcastle United on June 23, 2022, for an undisclosed fee, reported by Sky Sports to be £10 million.

Nick Pope is not the only child of his parents. He has a brother whose name is Josh Pope. Just like Nick, Josh is also an active sportsman. He is actually a goalkeeper, and he once played for Mildenhall Town.
His current club is Soham Town Rangers FC and he joined the club at the start of the 2017 season from Mildenhall Town, having played over 500 games. He is older than his brother Nick Pope.
He is the captain of Soham Town Rangers FC.
