When Samonte applied for and was accepted into the initial round of the talent competition StarStruck, she made her debut in the entertainment industry. She made an appearance in Kissing Beauty and the third season of Love to Love.

The afternoon daily soap Ikaw Sa Puso Ko gave her the part of Sophia as a follow-up. Afterwards, Leya, Ang Pinakamagandang Babae Sa Ilalim Ng Lupa, starr ing Samonte, was released (Leya: The Most Beautiful Woman Underground).

She was given the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation’s “Most Promising Actress” award. Samonte appeared in the second episode of the GMA daytime soap opera Now and Forever, which featured the Ganti subplot (Revenge).
