Mitch McConnell Parents: Who are Mitch McConnell’s Parents? – Mitch McConnell enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as a private in March 1967, just before his educational draft deferment expired upon graduation from law school.

Because Reserve units were mostly kept out of combat during the Vietnam War, this was a highly sought-after position.

His first day of training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, was on July 9, 1967, two days after he passed the bar exam, and his last day was on August 15, 1967.

From 1968 to 1980, he was married to Sherrill Redmon. They had three daughters: Porter, Eleanor (Elly), and Claire.

Sherrill became the director of the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and a feminist scholar after divorcing McConnell.

Elaine Chao, who served as the secretary of transportation under President Donald Trump and the secretary of labor under President George W. Bush, is his second wife, whom he wed in 1993.

Mitch McConnell and his lovely wife have three children and the names of these three children are Elly McConnell, Claire McConnell, and Porter McConnell.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, McConnell initially supported fellow Kentucky senator Rand Paul. McConnell endorsed presumptive nominee Donald Trump on February 4, 2016, following Paul’s withdrawal from the race in February 2016.

McConnell, on the other hand, has repeatedly disagreed with Trump. In May 2016, Trump claimed that federal judge Gonzalo P. Curiel was biased against him because of his Mexican ancestry.

Throughout Obama’s presidency, McConnell led Senate Republicans in a disciplined, sustained, and at times deceptive campaign to deny the Democratic president the ability to appoint federal judges.
