In April 2023, Michael Slater hit the headlines when it was reported that, he has been charged with assaulting police during a confrontation in a Queensland resort town.

The alleged incident on Friday left one officer with a cut to their hand, a police spokesperson said.

Slater was arrested after Queensland Police were called to an incident and medical emergency in Noosa Heads property at about midnight on Friday, March 31.

It is alleged Slater obstructed police when they arrived, later assaulting an officer who was left with a cut on their hand.

He has been ordered to face court on May 2 on two counts of obstruction and a single count of assault police. No one else was physically injured, Queensland Police said on Monday, April 3
