Aaron Hicks was born in San Pedro, California, United States to parents; Jody Hicks (mother) and Joseph Hicks (father).
His father was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the 1975 amateur draft, but his career was ended early by an eye injury. For this reason, Joseph did not want either of their sons to play baseball.
