Liz Cheney Children: Meet All 5 Children – Liz Cheney was born while her parents were both students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Liz Cheney attended sixth and seventh grade in Casper, Wyoming, while her father was a candidate for Congress.

Following her father’s election to Congress in the 1970s and 1980s, the family relocated to Casper and then to Washington, D.C.

Liz Cheney graduated in 1984 from McLean High School in suburban Washington, D.C., where she was a cheerleader. Colorado College, her mother’s alma mater, awarded her a Bachelor of Arts degree.

She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996. While at the Oriental Institute, she also studied Middle Eastern history.

Liz Cheney spent five years working for the State Department before attending law school, as well as the United States Agency for International Development from 1989 to 1993.

She began her career as an intern at Armitage Associates LLP, a consulting firm founded by Richard Armitage, a former Defense Department official who later became the Deputy Secretary of State.

After graduating from law school, Liz Cheney worked as an international law attorney and consultant for the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group.

She also worked as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of State for Soviet Union Assistance and as a USAID
