Keith Jefferson career
Keith Jefferson’s career began when he was cast in his first prominent part as Private Andrew Boyer against the incredible Danny Glover in the Emmy-nominated movie “Buffalo Soldiers.”
The storyline in the movie revolves around Keith’s baritone, and he sings two solo operettas on the Buffalo Soldiers soundtrack.
However, Jefferson’s fame increased as a result of his collaboration with Jamie Foxx on Django Unchained.
In the Academy Award-winning film “Django Unchained,” he was chosen by director Quentin Tarantino to play shotgun-wielding freed chain gang member “Pudgy Ralph.”
Jefferson just played Charly in “The Hateful Eight,” his second collaboration with Tarantino. The 70mm (and digital) film was shot in the cold town of Telluride, Colorado, and included an ensemble cast that included actors Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson in addition to Keith.
He has made cameos in additional films starring Jamie Foxx, including The Burial and Day Shift. Jefferson also appeared frequently in the television show “The Jamie Foxx Show” as a guest star.
The Reverend Avery Johnson in “Piano Lesson,” Jim in “Big River,” the main character in “Othello,” Officer James Bailey in “Superior Donuts,” and others are just a few of Jefferson’s traveling and regional theatrical credits.
Jefferson starred as Jeremiah Jessup in the television film “The Last Free Man” alongside Angela Lansbury, who is most known for her role in Murder, She Wrote.
In addition to his roles as an actor, singer, and skilled dancer, Keith also works as a voiceover artist, and director, and conducts training for aspiring entertainers.
