On June 19, 2023, five months after Julian Sands’ disappearance, the SBSD released an official community bulletin and an update from Nixl stating that on June 17, more than 80 search and rescue workers were sent to the remote Mount Baldy area. It announced that he had been dispatched to search for him. Since January, there have been eight official search missions to find Sands, during which more than 500 hours of volunteer search time have been spent, according to the report.
