Jules Kounde Bio and Career

His full name is Jules Olivier Kounde. He began playing football with the youth team of Fraternelle de Landiras, Cérons and La Brède FC from 2004 to 2013. He joined Bordeaux in 2013, playing for the youth team. He was promoted to play for the senior team reserve or the team B in 2016. On 7th January, 2018, Jules Kounde made his first debut for Bordeaux senior team.

Kounde signed for the Spanish La Liga side, Sevilla on 3rd July 2019, at a transfer fee of €25 million. In his first season at Sevilla, he helped the club win the UEFA Europa League for a record sixth time and was named in the competition’s team of the season. His spell at Sevilla was successful and impressive. His performance caught the eyes of other big clubs in Europe.

The Catalan club, FC Barcelona, who showed interest in the French player, Kounde, signed him on 29th July 2022. Barcelona  signed him at an initial fee of 50 million Euros. Kounde couldn’t register for FC Barcelona until 21st August, 2022 because they were over the league’s salary cap limit. ^He made his official debut for the club on 23rd August in a 4–0 win over Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou.

On his international duty, Kounde was called up on 18th to join the 26-man squad for the UEFA Euro 2020. He made his debut on 2nd June 2021 in a friendly against Wales. On 10 October 2021, Koundé started in France’s win over Spain in the 2021 UEFA Nations League Final.

He is part of 26-man squad for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
