Jon Ludvig Nilssen Hammer (born 2 June 1990) is a Norwegian Chess Grandmaster and 3 times Norwegian Chess Champion. He was the primary second player for Magnus Carlsen in the World Chess Championship 2013.

Hammer was the first winner of the Norwegian Chess Championship in 2013 in which he scored 7/9 (+5-0=4). Hammer’s previous best performance was in 2008’s championship, in which he came at the same point as Frode Elsness however, his playoff loss in September in the playoff to Elsness having lost the first game before settling for drawing in a lower situation in the following. The 2013/14 season saw Hammer won a clear first-place finish with 7 1/2/9 for the Rilton Cup.
