Jet Black Cause of Death, Age, Net Worth, Family – Jet Black was a founding member of the punk rock/new wave band The Stranglers.

He last performed with the band in 2015, and his retirement was announced in 2018 at the age of 79. He became a full-time professional musician in the mid-1970s after reading an advertisement in Melody Maker magazine and meeting Hugh Cornwell of the band Johnny Sox. Cornwell became a member of the Stranglers alongside Black.

His style is typically simple and jazz-influenced, though Stranglers songs such as “Duchess” and “Down in the Sewer” feature more frantic drumming.
