Jayasudha Kapoor born Sujatha Nidudavolu is an Indian actress and politician best known for her work in Telugu cinema and has also acted in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films.

Known as a natural actress, she was recognized for her performances in films such as Jyoti (1976), Idi Kata Kaadhu (1979), Premavishekham (1981), Megasandesam (1982), and Dharma Atomdu (1983). She is also a winner of 5 Nadi State Awards.

She has won five Filmfare Awards South for her performances in Jyothi (1976), Aame Katha (1977), Gruha Pravesam (1982), Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi (2004), and Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008).

In 2008 she won the ANR National Award and in 2010 she won Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award South in recognition of her contribution to Indian cinema. From 2009 until 2014, Jayasudha served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Secunderabad constituency of the former Andhra Union Government of Pradesh.

Jayasudha made her film debut at the age of 12 in the Telugu film Pandanti Kapuram (1972). The director K. Balachander gave her a small role in the Tamil film Alanthelam, where she shared space with Kamal Haasan.

She has appeared in many films in Telugu and Tamil, mostly directed by Balachander Sorasanni Nikelen (1973), Nan Avani Rai (1974), Apoorva Ragangarh, Chiranjeevi and Idi Katha Appeared in Cardu. She also changed her name to Jayasudha because they already had another actress named Sujatha. Her fame spread quickly with Telugu film producers offering her outstanding film roles.
