Jaelan Phillips stands at a height of 6ft 5 inches or 196 centimeters/1,96 meters and weighs 119kg or 263 lb. He is a team member of the National Football League (NFL) Miami Dolphins. After two seasons of collegiate football at UCLA, Phillips was forced to retire from football in 2018 owing to many concussions and other problems.

In seven games as a true freshman in 2017, Phillips racked up 21 tackles (seven for loss), two pass deflections, and 3.5 sacks.
He participated in four games as a sophomore in 2018 before suffering a concussion that interrupted his season.
In December 2018, following multiple injuries, including getting struck by a car while riding a moped, Phillips announced his medical retirement from football and enrolled in Los Angeles City College to pursue a degree in music production.
With the intention of playing football for the Hurricanes, Phillips moved to the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in 2019.
Due to NCAA transfer regulations, he was unable to participate in the 2019 season. However, he did start in 2020 and ended with 45 tackles, 8 sacks, and 1 interception.
In addition to being recognized as an All-ACC and second-team All-American, he was a finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award. Instead of using his remaining college eligibility, he decided to declare for the NFL Draft in 2021.
The Miami Dolphins selected Phillips in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft (18th overall). On June 9, 2021, he agreed to a $14 million, four-year rookie contract.
In 2021, Phillips made appearances in all 17 games as a rookie, starting four of them. In all, he recorded 42 tackles (23 solo), 8.5 sacks, and one pass defensed.
He recorded seven sacks, 37 solo tackles, two passes defensed, and one forced fumble in the 2022 campaign.
