Jacklyn Zeman Movies – Jacklyn Zeman, born on March 6, 1953, and sadly passing away on May 10, 2023, was a talented American actress renowned for her portrayal of Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer on the popular ABC daytime soap opera, General Hospital.

Originally from Bergenfield, New Jersey, Zeman completed her high school studies at Bergenfield High School at the young age of 15. Following this, she pursued her passion for dance through a scholarship at New York University. In 1972, Zeman worked as a Playboy Bunny at the Playboy Club before embarking on her acting career.

Jacklyn Zeman initially took on various minor roles before landing a significant part in the ABC daytime soap opera, One Life to Live, where she portrayed Lana McClain from 1976 to 1977. Later that year, she secured the role of Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer on General Hospital, becoming a series regular.

Zeman dedicated herself to this role until 2010, earning acclaim and receiving three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and one nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. From 2013 onwards, Zeman made recurring appearances on General Hospital.

In addition to her soap opera success, Zeman showcased her talent in other areas of the entertainment industry. She appeared in the 1982 comedy film National Lampoon’s Class Reunion and had a cameo in the spoof comedy film Young Doctors in Love. Zeman also starred in made-for-television movies such as Jury Duty: The Comedy (1990) alongside Heather Locklear and Montana Crossroads (1993) alongside Kellie Martin.

Her passion for acting extended to off-Broadway and other theatrical productions, including notable shows like Come Blow Your Horn, Barefoot in the Park, and The Boy Friend. In 2021, she received another Daytime Emmy Award nomination for her role as Sofia Madison in the streaming series, The Bay.

Zeman shared close relationships with her General Hospital co-stars. She delivered a heartfelt eulogy at the funeral of Shell Kepler, who portrayed Nurse Amy Vining on the show.

Additionally, Zeman held a special bond with Anna Lee, known for her role as wealthy matriarch Lila Quartermaine, whom she described as a surrogate grandmother. Zeman paid tribute to Lee in 2004, expressing her deep admiration for her both on and off the set.

It was reported in 2012 that Zeman’s home in Malibu, California, was facing foreclosure, indicating a challenging period in her personal life.
