Roberto Alomar married Maripily Rivera, a Puerto Rican model, on June 1, 2009. The next year, Rivera claimed she had been the victim of domestic abuse three times, including Alomar threatening her life with a knife, and she wanted to dissolve the marriage. Alomar said that Rivera threatened to divorce him unless he handed her half ownership of his Tampa home. The divorce was finalized on July 12, 2011, through a private settlement.

At least four people have sued Alomar, including his ex-wife, alleging that he exposed them to HIV. The lawyer for Alomar’s ex-wife alleged that Alomar paid $4 million in settlements to Shaughnessy and another ex-girlfriend, Ilya Dall.

On December 12, 2012, Alomar married Toronto resident Kim Perks at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Their first daughter was born in 2014. The Alomars live in Toronto.
