That season, Kosar tossed for 3,533 yards and 18 touchdowns, while wide receiver Webster Slaughter set a team record with 1,236 receiving yards. Trestman was fired after the Browns’ third AFC Championship game loss in four years, owing mostly to his troubled relationship with Carson.
