Bradman Best was born on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia and is of Indigenous Australian and Welsh descent. Bradman Best was educated at St Edward’s College in East Gosford and played Junior Rugby League for Woi Woi Roosters before signing for Newcastle Knights. He is the son of former Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and London Broncos player Roger Best.

Growing up from Newcastle’s lower echelon, Bradman Best also represented New South Wales’ Under-16 and Under-18 teams. At the age of 17, he was invited to train with the Newcastle NRL team. He played for the Australian School Boys at the end of 2018 and re-signed with the Newcastle club on a four-year deal until the end of 2022.

Between injuries, Bradman Best spent 2019 playing for Newcastle’s Jersey Flegg Cup side and the Canterbury Cup NSW side. He turned 18 in August and qualified to play in the NRL. Shortly after, he scored three tries in the Jersey Flegg Cup after returning from a leg injury and was named Man of the Match.

On 27 March, Bradman Best was ruled out of action for four weeks with an elbow injury in Newcastle’s victory over the New Zealand Warriors. In round 14, he was taken from the field in Newcastle’s loss against South Sydney and was ruled out for an indefinite period. Bradman Best returned to the Newcastle side for their round 20 match against Canberra. In Round 21 against Brisbane, he injured his shoulder during the game and was taken to hospital for scans.

Bradman Best was sidelined with an elbow injury during Newcastle’s defeat to Brisbane on Matchday 11 of the 2022 NRL season he was later suspended indefinitely. On 16 August it was announced that Bradman Best had resigned from the Newcastle club for not meeting team standards. He was in the club’s matchday 22 loss to Brisbane, but missed the team bus to the airport the next morning.

In round 18 of the 2023 NRL season, Bradman Best scored a hat-trick in Newcastle’s 66-0 victory over Canterbury. The following day, he was a surprise selection by New South Wales for game 3 of the 2023 State of Origin series. During game three of the 2023 state of origin series, Bradman Best best scored two tries on debut for New South Wales as they won the match 24-10 and avoided a series clean sweep.
