Gabrielle Union Husband: Meet Dwayne Wade
Gabrielle Union and NFL player Chris Howard first crossed paths at a party in 1999, sparking a connection that led to their marriage on May 5, 2001. However, their union encountered challenges, and they eventually separated in October 2005. The divorce was finalized in 2006. Reflecting on this period, Union acknowledged that she had not always made the best choices in pursuing her dreams and aspirations.
In a 2014 interview, Union revealed that she may have rushed into the relationship with Howard for reasons that weren’t entirely aligned with her true desires. She admitted that in her twenties, her focus had been on obtaining a marriage “ring,” realizing later that this mindset may not have been the healthiest approach. Union described feeling frequently upset during the marriage and gained a deeper understanding that the men in her life were imperfect human beings.
Following her divorce, Union found love once again, this time with NBA player Dwyane Wade. Their relationship blossomed in 2008, and they tied the knot on August 30, 2014, in Miami, Florida. Along with their marriage, Union embraced the role of stepmother to Wade’s three children from a previous relationship.
Before their marriage, Union and Wade made the decision to sign a prenuptial agreement, ensuring the protection of their individual assets. Their honeymoon took them to enchanting destinations in the Maldives and Tanzania, where they celebrated their new chapter together.
On November 7, 2018, Union and Wade joyfully welcomed their daughter into the world. Through the use of a surrogate, they expanded their family and embarked on the rewarding journey of parenthood.
