De Jong was born in, where he started playing football at a young age. Frenkie is a professional footballer from the Netherlands who plays his club football with the Spanish La Liga giants, FC Barcelona. He is also an integral player in The Netherlands national team.

In 2015, Frenkie began his professional football in Willem II, Dutch football club in the Eerste Divisie based in Tilburg, Netherlands. On 22nd August 2015, he joined Ajax at a transfer fee of 1 million Euros. De Jong had a wonderful and successful 2018/2019 season at Ajax. He won a domestic double with the club.
