Elias Diaz Parents: Meet Ana Soto And Porfirio Diaz: Born on November 17, 1990, Elias Diaz, officially known as Elias David Diaz Soto is a Venezuelan professional baseball player.
He developed a passion for playing baseball at a younger age, has been consistent throughout his career, and has risen to become one of the most sought-after baseball players

Previously, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and also represented the Colombian national baseball team.
Diaz signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008 and made his professional debut in 2009 for the Venezuelan Summer League Pirates.
He also had a short stint with Gulf Coast Pirates, West Virginia Power, Bradenton Marauders, Altoona Curve, and Indianapolis Indians.
On Monday, December 2, 2019, Diaz was non-tendered by Pittsburgh Pirates and eventually, he became a free agent.
On January 6, 2020, Diaz signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies and made the Opening Day roster for the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
In the 2020 season, he batted .235/.288/.353 with two home runs in 73 plate appearances, and in 2021, he batted .246/.310/.464 with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs in 106 games.
On November 18, 2021, Díaz signed a three-year, $14.5 million extension with the Colorado Rockies and has consistently performed well.
In 2023, he was named to the 2023 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. He was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after hitting a game-winning home run for the National League in the eighth inning.
