Dominik Kubalík siblings-Czech professional ice hockey forward, Dominik Kubalík was born on August 21, 1995.

Kabalík was born in Plzeň, Czech Republic to Martina Kabalík and Petr Kubalík. He shares the same parents with his older brother named Tomas Kabalík.

He competes for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Ottawa Senators. In the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Los Angeles Kings selected him in the seventh round, 191st overall.

Dominik Kubalík career

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL)’s Sudbury Wolves were where Kabalík spent the 2012–13 campaign. He was chosen by the Los Angeles Kings in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft after tallying 34 points in 67 games.

For the 2013–14 season, Kubalk rejoined the Wolves. Kabalík and two second-round draft selections were sent to the Kitchener Rangers on January 10, 2014, in exchange for Radek Faksa.

On April 8, 2014, Kabalík visited HC Plze once more. Kabalík committed to a three-year deal with HC Ambr-Piotta of the Nati onal League (NL) on August 25, 2017. While on loan, he spent the 2017–18 campaign with both HC Ambr-Piotta and HC Plze.

In exchange for a 2019 fifth-round pick, Kabalík’s NHL rights were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on January 24, 2019.

He earned the most valuable player award in the Switzerland Hockey National League after finishing the 2018–19 campaign with 57 points in 50 games.

The Blackhawks agreed to a one-year, $925,000 contract with Kabalík on May 29, 2019. Kabalík made his NHL debut on October 10, 2019, in a 5-4 loss to the San Jose Sharks.

Kabalík’s first NHL hat-trick came on February 27, 2020, during a 5-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kubalk scored three times, all in the third frame.

He finished the regular season with 46 points in 68 games on the strength of 30 goals and 16 assists. Along with Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar, Kabalík was selected as a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy on July 15, 2020, which honors the league’s top rookie.

In the 2020 Qualifying Round, the Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers played each other. In a 6-4 victory in Game 1 of the series, Kabalík had two goals and three assists. His five points set a league record for an NHL postseason debut.

Kabalík was not extended a qualifying offer by the struggling Blackhawks, and on July 12, 2022, he was declared an imminent restricted free agent after his contract expired at the end of the 2021–2022 season.

Kabalík signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings on July 13, the first day of free agency.

Kabalík was transferred to the Ottawa Senators on July 9, 2023, along with Alex DeBrincat, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round pick in 2024, and two conditional fourth-round picks in 2024.

Dominik Kubalík has an older brother named Tomáš Kubalík. His brother a fifth-round draft pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and played 12 games for the organization. He most recently played in the Czech Extraliga.
