Denys Monastyrsky Cause of Death, Age, Family, Net Worth – Denys Anatoliiovych Monastyrsky was a Ukrainian lawyer and politician who was Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from 16 July 2021 until his death in a helicopter crash in 2023.

On June 12, 1980, Denys Monastyrsky was born in Khmelnytskyi, in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic of the Soviet Union. He had graduated from the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law’s Faculty of Law.

Denys Monastyrsky was formerly a student at the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences’ Koretsky Institute of State and Law. He held a law doctorate.

Monastyrsky began practicing law in 2007. At the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law, where he was an associate professor, he also served as the director of the department of lawmaking and scientific expertise in the research division.

The Podolia Youth Cultural Association “Into the Future through Culture” was co-founded by Monastyrsky, who also served on its board.

Monastyrsky assisted Anton Herashchenko as a consultant from 2014 to 2019.

Monastyrsky was promoted as a member of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky’s “team” on law enforcement reform in the lead-up to the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election.

On May 20, 2019, Zelensky took office as president of Ukraine after winning the election.

In the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary elections, Monastyrsky ran as a Servant of the People.

He was elected to the Ukrainian parliament and given the number 19 spot on the national election list.

He was appointed chairman of the parliamentary committee on law enforcement affairs in the legislature. He was one of the people’s deputies who submitted the most legislative initiatives, per an analysis by the civil movement “Chesno.”

Denys Monastyrsky was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs by 271 MPs on July 16, 2021, following the resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on July 12. At the Ministry, Anton Herashchenko was one of his designated advisors.

Denys Monastyrsky, his deputy Yevhen Yenin, and Yurii Lubkovych, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, were killed in a helicopter crash on 18 January 2023 in Brovary, an eastern suburb of Kyiv.

A child was among the 14 people killed when the helicopter crashed into a kindergarten. At least 25 other people were hurt.
