He developed a love for acting at a younger age and has been consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after actors.

Schwimmer kicked off his acting career performing in school plays at Beverly Hills High School. In 1988, he graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in theater and speech.

In 2020, he was cast as a main character in a British sitcom, Intelligence broadcast on Sky One and in May of the same year (2020), Schwimmer was a celebrity reader on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

Later in 2020, Schwimmer was signed as the face of the British banking chain TSB. In 2023 he hit the headlines after he disclosed a heartbreaking reason for signing up for the celebrity Bake Off.

According to the Friends star, who happens to be a superfan of the show that raises awareness of cancer, he signed up because his gran and his ex-wife’s mother died from the disease while sister Ellie faced her own battle with it.
