Danielle Finlay-Jones was the director of female football at Ramsgate RSL Football Club. She reportedly died a few hours after meeting her date, Ashley Gaddie, a 33-year-old man he had met on a dating app, Tinder.

Danielle had reportedly spent the night of Saturday, December 17 introducing her date (Ashley Gaddie) to her friends at the Marsden Brewhouse in Sydney’s west on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

According to the Police, Ashley Gaddie fled the Cranebrook home where Finlay-Jones was found with severe head injuries on the afternoon of Sunday, December 18. Police believe the pair had spent the night there, with Gaddie leaving sometime in the morning.

Despite the efforts of emergency services who were called to the scene at 2.30 pm, Finlay-Jones could not be revived and was declared dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, the suspect, Ashley Gaddie was arrested at Fletcher’s Lookout cliffs in the Blue Mountains after a 12-hour marathon standoff with police. He’s described as of Caucasian appearance with blue eyes and a bald head, about 1.8 m tall, and of a muscular build with both of his arms covered with tattoos.
