Chris Kamara Siblings: Meet George and Maria: Chris Kamara was born to Alimamy Kindo Kamara and Irene Kamara on December 25, 1957, in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom.

He’s a former English professional football player and manager. During his time as a footballer, Chris Kamara played for 9 English professional clubs in a career spanning 20 years before going on to manage Bradford and Stoke.

After retiring from active football, he worked as a presenter and football analyst at Sky Sports from 1992 to 2022 but he was forced to step down from broadcasting due to his battle with health after he revealed in early 2022 that he has been struggling with apraxia of speech.

On January 1, 2023, Chris Kamara made headlines after becoming an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours. An MBE means “Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, an MBE is the third highest ranking Order of the British Empire award.” Chris Kamara was recognized for services to football, charity, and anti-racism.

The former professional football player and manager said he was “really proud” to have been recognized for three categories. “I’ve always thought that if I was ever in a position to make a difference, then I would try my best,” he said.
