Cheri Bustos is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on October 17, 1961 in Springfield, Illinois, United States. Cheryl Lea Bustos (/”‘ b u’: O U s / the nee Callahan 17 October 1951) is an American journalist, executive in the field of healthcare and politician, who is an U.S. Representative for Illinois’s 17th congressional district as of 2013. An active part of the Democratic Party, she is the first woman elected to Congress in her district. It is which is located in the northwest portion of the state. It’s which is dominated by the Illinois portion that is part of the Quad Cities, which includes a portion of Peoria along with Rockford. In the year 2019 Bustos took on a leadership role within the House Democrats in the position of Chairperson for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

From 2001 until 2007, she was the chief director of corporate communication at Trinity Regional Health Systems. From 2008 until 2011, she served as vice director of corporate communications at Iowa Health System; in the final year of her full-time employment she was paid an overall salary of $36,295.

In 2007, Bustos ran for the East Moline City Council from that city’s 4th Ward. She won the Democratic primary with 45% of the vote, and won the general election unopposed. In 2011, she won re-election unopposed.

Previously elected to the East Moline City Council in 2007, she defeated Republican incumbent Bobby Schilling in the 2012 election and a subsequent 2014 rematch. Assigned to the House Committee on Agriculture and Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Bustos and Senator Dick Durbin are the only Democrats in the congressional delegation from Illinois who are not from the Chicago area as of the 2016 elections.

In 1985, she relocated in 1985 to Quad Cities for work as a night-shift journalist for the newspaper, the Quad-City Times. Bustos was employed there for 17 years, beginning as a reporter, later as editor.
