Belinda Carlisle children-American singer, Belinda Jo Carlisle was born on August 17th, 1958 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California in the United States of America.
Carlisle was born to Joanne Thompson and Harold Carlisle. She happens to be the first child of seven children; three brothers and three sisters.

She was given the name Johnny Belinda after her mother’s favorite movie (1948). Carlisle claimed that after her father left the family when she was five years old, she lived in poverty for the majority of her childhood.
She remembered having “like, two outfits” when she was an adolescent. Carlisle claimed that while her father was not religious, her mother was quite devout. Walt Kurczeski, who Carlisle claims was an alcoholic and with whom she had a turbulent relationship, was later remarried by her mother.
From Simi Valley to Reseda and back again until settling in Burbank when Carlisle was seven, the family relocated frequently during her youth. Carlisle first mentioned his interest in music when he was eleven years old. He cited the Beach Boys, Cat Stevens, the Stylistics, and the Animals as early musical influences.
During Carlisle’s teens, the family moved once more, this time to Thousand Oaks, California. Carlisle attended Colina Junior High School in Thousand Oaks, where she played guard as a reserve for the boys’ basketball team, and subsequently Newbury Park High School, where she cheered.
At the age of 18, Carlisle began working as a photocopy clerk at the Hilton Hotels Corporation in Los Angeles after graduating from high school.
She attended a beauty college while taking night classes, but she left after the first semester. Carlisle left home at the age of 19 to pursue a career in music.

Carlisle rose to fame as the lead singer of the Go- Go’s, the most popular all-female rock band of all time, and then enjoyed a successful solo career.
Carlisle, who was born and raised in Southern California, joined the Go-in Go’s 1978 and quickly rose to the position of lead singer. The trio contributed to the Americanization of new wave music in 1981 with the release of their top-charting debut studio album Beauty and the Beat.
The Go-were Go’s the first (and to this day, only) all-female band in history to have an album debut at number one while also writing and playing all of their own instruments. Over seven million records by The Go-have Go’s been sold globally.
With radio successes like “Mad About You,” “I Get Weak,” “Circle in the Sand,” “Leave a Light On,” and “Heaven Is a Place on Earth,” Carlisle enjoyed success as a solo artist after the Go-split Go’s in 1985.
Carlisle has maintained her solo career while simultaneously performing frequently with The Go-since Go’s their 1999 reunion. In June 2010, Carlisle’s autobiography, Lips Unsealed, was released and quickly became one of the New York Times Best Sellers.
Carlisle was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011 for his work with the Go-Gos. In 2021, she and the band were both admitted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
