Griezmann was born in Macon, Saône-et-Loire in France. Griezmann began his youth football when he was six year old at Union du Football Mâconnais, a football club located in Mâcon, France.

At the age of 14, he joined senior the Spanish Real Sociedad in 2005., w inning the Segunda División in his first season.
