Angie Craig Parents: Who Are Angie Craig Parents?: Angie Craig, officially known as Angela Dawn Craig is an American politician, retired journalist, and former businesswoman.

She graduated from the Nettleton High School in Jonesboro before proceeding to the University of Memphis where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

As a member of the Democratic Party, she first ran for Congress in 2016, losing to Jason Lewis, whom she defeated in their 2018 rematch.

Angie Craig has since served as the U.S. representative from Minnesota’s 2nd congressional district since 2019.

In the 2022 election, she defeated Republican nominee Tyler Kistner in a rematch of the 2020 election with 51% of the vote.

Angie Craig happens to be the first openly LGBT+ member of Congress from Minnesota and the first lesbian mother to serve in Congress.

In February 2023, Angie Craig made major headlines when it was reported that she had been allegedly assaulted in her D.C. apartment building.

Angie Craig was assaulted in the elevator of her D.C. apartment building on the morning of Thursday, February, 9 fighting off her attacker by tossing hot coffee at him.

Although she defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay,” Nick Coe, her chief of staff, said in a statement.

Despite the attack, Craig went to the Capitol later in the morning, casting three votes on the House floor during the day’s proceedings.

In the evening of that same Thursday, the Police said they arrested Kendrick Hamlin, 26, also known as Hamlin Khalil Hamlin, and charged him with simple assault.
