Her acting career began in 1993, at Second City Detroit. She met Frances Callier in Chicago, and they would eventually change names to Frangela who created the animated TV show, Hey Monie!, which was broadcast at BET along with Oxygen and was awarded the NAMIC award. The duo is a stand-up comedy and have been featured in an advertisement in the Equality Campaign’s “NO on Prop 8” campaign. Shelton and Callier were part of the British comedy show 3 Non-Blondes. Shelton is often seen as Frangela on VH1’s Most Popular Week Ever. The pair recently wrapped up their popular program An Evening with the Afro-Saxons. The duo hosts the radio talk show with KEIB. KEIB during Saturday mornings.
